Sonia Haberstich was born in Quebec City in 1960. She obtained a BFA in Studio Arts in 2004 and an MFA in Painting from Concordia University in 2008.

She has presented her work in numerous solo exhibitions nationally and internationally, including shows at La Maison des Arts de Laval (2015), at the Centre d’exposition Raymond-Lasnier de Trois-Rivières (2015), at the Galerie d’art d’Outremont (2014), at Artmandat in France (2009), at the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides (2009) and at La Centrale (2008). More recently, in 2016, she showed at Galerie McClure (Montréal), at Harcourt (Edmonton) and in 2017, at the Centre d’exposition Mont-Laurier.

She also took part in many group shows in Quebec and around the world. Among these, Freak Funk Formalism at Galerie Laroche-Joncas (2014), La foire d’art contemporain de St-Lambert (2014 & 2015),Montréal/Barjols aller/retour at the Maison de la culture de Pointe-aux-Trembles (2009), Hand-Face-Bodyat the Gladstone Hotel (Toronto), Fibreworks ‘06 at the Cambridge Galleries (2006) and The End with the Orange and Brown collective in Brisbane, Australia (2006).

Sonia Haberstich has received many grants. She has produced many public works and is very active in her community with teaching and cultural mediation. Articles and publications around her work abound. She lives and works in Hudson, Québec.
